About Silicon
What is Silicon?
Elemental silicon (Si), after oxygen, is the second most abundant element in the earth’s crust. Not to be confused with “silicone,” the gel like material used to make cell phone covers and cook wear. Silicon is the primary component of sand, rocks, clay and countless natural minerals known to us as “silica” or “silicates.” Silicon is all around us. It’s what glass is primarily made of and commonly used in electronics & semiconductors. Silicon is a metalloid- it’s neither a metal nor a conductor making it an extremely marvelous element. Plants can only take up silicon in the form of mono-silicic acid which is the only water-soluble form of silicon also refereed to as Soluble Silicon. For this reason, crushing sand, silica, glass and other silicon composits into soil does very little to benet earth & agriculture due of the lack of Si bioavailibility. Plants transport Si through their roots via the xylem and then distribute soluble silicon to where the plant requires. Silicon is ultimately absorbed and polymerized as silica into cell walls where structure & strength improves stocks, leaves, owers & fruits to make a stronger more resilient crop. Silicon is ocially designated as a plant benecial substance by the Association of American Plant Food Control Ocials (AAPFCO).
How is Mono-Silicic Acid Made?
Mother nature is all giving and organically produces mono-silicic acid (MSA) as a result of millions of years of silicon decay within Oceans and large bodies of water. It’s a fact that most water contains trace amounts of soluble silicon as silicic, orthosilicic or MSA. Additionally, MSA naturally occurs in volcanic rich areas where geo-activity abundantly synthesizes soluble silicon from mineral rich silicates.
What is Hyper Silicon?
SoluSil™ features two types of propritary silicon. Primarily, Hyper Silicon™ features industry leading levels of quick bio-available soluble silicon (MSA) plus slow release micronized elemental silicon especially designed to protect plants from metals while restoring optimal silicon levels in soil. Our breakthrough is the most comprehensive end-to-end strategy to implementing Silicon. Designed by growers for growers.
How does the Silicon Cycle Work?
For the Soil
Both silicic acid & elemental silicon revitalize the living soil. Soluble Silicon’s surfactant quality loosens conglomerated earth while replenishing much depleted bio available silicon. Si increases soil water retention & airspaces for improved soil structure while elemental Si draws aluminum, iron and other unwanted metals away from roots.
For the Microorganisms
Silicon promotes biodiversity with enriched soil. Friendly microorganisms in soil interact with silicic acid, soil bacteria and fungi inuence the mobility & availability of silicic acid through their metabolic activities. The living soil is key to regenerative farming.
For the Plant
Plants absorb silicic acid from the soil & leafs. Silicon is benecial for plant growth, contributes to cell wall strength, improves photosynthesis & structure, increases resistance to pests, diseases and overall heightens tolerance to abiotic environmental stresses.
For Post Harvest
Silicon protects & replenishes soil post harvest to insulate microbes & roots from undesirable metals in soil, damaging environmental & temperature stress all while regenerating soil for the next growth cycle.
Identifying Silicon Deficiency
Symptoms of Si deficiency are typically not as visually apparent in obvious ways. The most alarming concerns of silicon deficiency are increased plant's susceptibility to diseases such as powdery mildew or persistent insect attacks which lead to crop devestation. Adequate silicon nutrition in plant tissue increases plant structure and rigidity which naturally protect plants. Studies have shown that insect attack on plant tissues are inverselv related to the lack of silicon uptake. Pathogens and insects at the biochemical, physical, and molecular levels are remarkably similar when silicon is taken up by roots and translocated to shoots where Silicon is kev to plant's natural defense imunity.
Does SoluSil Work in All Farming?
What farming types does SoluSil work for?
Silicon is compatible with greenhouse, hydroponics & open farming
Bio-Fortification
Soluble Silicon benefits crops by selectively improving micro-nutrient uptake. A healthier plant is a stronger plant which effectively grows quality crops with elevated nutrient levels. Bio-fortification with SoluSil™ equals an overall better crop with superior nutrient availability for the end consumer.
Non GMO
Non GMO Fertilizer SoluSil™ does not alter DNA. It simply allows the plant's genes to express themselves more effectively. Simply put, SoluSil™ helps your plants reach their peak potential naturally.

Application Related
Open Farming Usage
Generally Dilute SoluSil with water at the ratio of 1 part SoluSil : 10 parts water. Apply Once a month. Typically 1 gallon covers 10-13 acres depending on row density
Green House Usage
Generally dilute SoluSil™ with water at the ratio of 1 part SoluSil : 10 parts water. Apply once a month
Hydroponic Usage
Consult your SoluSil™ distributor/ PCAs for dosing recommendations
Can SoluSil™ be applied to crop in-combination with other nutrients/chemicals at the same time?
No- SoluSil™ has to be applied to crops on its own. Generally apply other chemicals before or after 36 hours to avoid compatibility concerns.
Best Time of Day to Apply SoluSil™?
Generally apply during the early hours of the day so that foliar or soil application may properly disburse. Avoid applying during sunny/ high temperature times.
